Nowhere else in Singapore conducts the Most Secret Hayagriva puja to the elaborate extent that we find at ABC. It is performed according to its lineage, which was established through our founders, Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and our resident teacher Khen Rinpoche Geshe Chonyi, who were from Sera Je Monastery.

Most Secret Hayagriva is a wrathful aspect of Chenresig (Guan Yin). Praying to Most Secret Hayagriva is a swift and powerful means to overcome negative forces and obstacles including those caused by spirit harms. Prayers to the deity are especially beneficial in these degenerate times when sufferings and illnesses are rampant due to the strong delusions of sentient beings. As a manifestation of Chenresig, the practice of Most Secret Hayagriva helps to develop compassion. The Most Secret Hayagriva puja [Tibetan: ‘Tamdrin tsog kong’] is extremely powerful against obstacles created by nagas such as cancer, leprosy and skin diseases, landlord spirits which manifest as paralysis or spirit harm, and epilepsy which is connected to spirit harm. The principal cause of these illnesses is one’s negative karma, while the non-human entities are precipitating conditions. Relying on this practice dispels such obstacles.
Our Event at a Glance
All are welcome throughout our three-day prayer festival to observe this lively and ceremonious ritual where elaborate offerings including numerous decorative ‘tormas’ (ritual offering cakes), medicinal nectar bowls and ‘tsog’ offerings are presented. The prayers include extensive confession, as well as offerings and requests to various Dharma protectors for their swift enlightened activity.
Come in person and bring family and friends along to take part in this purification ritual where sickness and contamination is purified. Khen Rinpoche and Sangha will perform the ritual at the closing session of our grand prayer festival. Recite and Count the Mantras Those attending any of the sessions throughout our three-day prayer festival are invited to join in reciting the mantra of Most Secret Hayagriva. A simple practice text will be provided for those who wish to take part while the pujas are in progress. By following the prayers in the text and reciting the mantras, everyone can actively engage in meaningful practice to receive the blessings of the deity.
